About Us

Who Are We?

We are a Christian faith focused on proclaiming Jesus’ soon return!

Adventists believe that one God is comprised of three Persons–the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. This Trinity made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father’s will. When Jesus was crucified for the sins of the people of the world and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for everyone.

When Jesus returned to heaven following the resurrection, He left the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor. He promised to return to earth a second time to complete His plan of salvation and to take His people to heaven. Adventists not only look forward to that day, but are preparing for it.

Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and that everything—the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us—should follow His guide: the Bible. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him.

Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as the source of our beliefs. We consider our movement to be the result of the Protestant conviction Sola Scriptura—the Bible as the only standard of faith and practice for Christians.  Find out more about our 28 Fundamental Beliefs (or PDF file).

Seventh-day Sabbath

From the Bible, we see a long-neglected day that is a gift from God: the Sabbath.

The Sabbath is God’s gift to us, a time for rest and restoration of our connection to God and others. It reminds us of God’s creation and Jesus’ grace.

The gracious Creator, after the six days of Creation, rested on the seventh day and instituted the Sabbath for all people as a memorial of Creation. The fourth commandment of God’s unchangeable law requires the observance of this seventh-day Sabbath as the day of rest, worship, and ministry in harmony with the teaching and practice of Jesus, the Lord of the Sabbath.

The Sabbath is a day of delightful communion with God and one another. It is a symbol of our redemption in Christ, a sign of our sanctification, a token of our allegiance, and a foretaste of our eternal future in God’s kingdom. The Sabbath is God’s perpetual sign of His eternal covenant between Him and His people. Joyful observance of this holy time from evening to evening, sunset to sunset, is a celebration of God’s creative and redemptive acts.
